Foster Care Staff Honored

Youth In Need’s Foster Care case management team, which is part of the Children’s Permanency Partnership (CPP) consortium, has continued to shine despite a year that’s presented some unique challenges. At the top of the “essential worker” list, they provided services throughout the pandemic, ensuring that children in foster care remained safe and found loving homes.

Two of those amazing staff were honored recently for their exceptional work. Trenice Green, Foster Care Associate Supervisor, and Cassady Crawford, Foster Care Case Manager, received awards during CPP’s annual “Light the Way” celebration.

Trenice was named Most Inspirational Supervisor from staff who said she inspires and helps them, cares about them, advocates for them, listens to them, leads them and is supportive, trustworthy and shows integrity. Selected from the group of Employee of the Month winners, and ultimately selected by supervisors after reviewing nominations, Cassady received the Case Manager of the Year award. Her nomination said, “Cassady is devoted to finding safe, stable and loving homes for all her kids. At the same time, she is compassionate and understanding of all parents she is working with and assumes positive intent in all her interactions. Cassady is very permanency focused and strives to do anything that is needed to give them every opportunity possible to be able to reunite with their children.”

Nurses Give Back to Youth In Need

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital kicked off Nurses Week with its Glennon Nurses Give Back donation drive to benefit Youth In Need. The drive, which ran through the end of May, collected 1,400 packages of diapers, toiletries, hygiene items, school and cleaning supplies and more for Youth In Need’s programs.
